From Cha Am town to the middle of Hua Hin is about 20 minutes
Would that be the same from the Novotel
The Novotel Cha Am is south of Cha Am Town, but as it's on the beach by the time you get back to the main highway I guess it would still be about 20 minutes.
It would take a little longer in the busy times of the day.

Yes, but some trains take longer so it could be up to 4 and a half hours.
Make sure you get one of the express trains, don't take the diesel railcar !

It is right on the beach but it backs onto the center of town
The beach runs from the Hilton and Sofitel Hua Hin area for about 4 or 5 km south all the way down past the Hyatt Hua Hin and Wora Bura down to Khao Takiab
